In 1976, Rosa opened her first official storefront, Porto’s Bakery on Sunset Boulevard in Echo Park, California. Raul Sr. would help out when not working at another local bakery, and after several years, he was able to join Rosa to continue to grow the business.

In order to maintain our high quality standards, Porto’s Bakery continues to be family-owned and operated. We do not offer a franchise program.

Are Portos cookies good?

Porto’s is a great stop for lunch or pastries. They have great chocolate chip cookies, sour dough bread, chicken croquettes, and cakes. There will be lines but the move quickly and worth the wait.
